New this week at Couture Allure are items from a California couturier and other noted designers.Richard Tam was a California couturier based in San Francisco. His work was considered on par with Galanos and many of his pieces now reside in museum collections. This silk brocade babydoll dress dates to about 1968.
Donald Brooks was considered a fashion leader of the 1960's and was well known for his bold graphic prints. This 1960's cotton canvas coat is an example of iconic Brooks design. Look closely....the pattern is actually peas in pods!
Another noted designer of the 60's, this time Malcolm Starr. This shimmering cocktail dress is of silk organza woven with gold metallic threads.
This 1960's cocktail set consists of a empire waisted dress with matching coat. You must go look at the back of the coat with it's gathered fullness!
This early 1960's floral wiggle dress has a bubble overskirt. Divine!
We don't normally "do" polyester double knit at Couture Allure, but I couldn't pass up this sweet 1970's set of long sleeve dress with a matching cape.
