Vintage Hats - 1970
By 1970, hats had virtually disappeared from the wardrobes of modern young women. Many milliners had gone out of business by this time, with the few remaining serving their older customers who still insisted on wearing a hat, as was popular with their generation, or as was required for proper etiquette. You can see in the last photo how out of place the hat looks with the long straight hair that was being worn by most young women in 1970.
