While burning midnight oil over judicial review and the Australian Constitution (mmm riveting), I simply have to take some creative relief in Alice McCall's SS11/12 show at fashion week. As well as addressing all my staple meals of laser-cutting, embroidery, symmetricised motifs, cuffed wrists, and shorts with the damn-awesome factor, Miss Alice certainly pulled off a much softer, more relaxed colour palette compared to the harsher blacks, whites and neons that dominated the rest of RAFW.
I have to say, what I loved the most was definitely the use of opaque patterning on sheers - still a bit technologically baffled as to how this was managed, but hey. It's here now. And I appreciate it.
A lot.
