I thought, rather than catching up on my trillions of photos from yesterday, that I'd just start with today, and gradually fall behind, then use the banked up images as an excuse to reminisce about RAFW 2011 when I'm recovering next week :)
So let's start with 10am this morning. Rachel Gilbert's collection stomped to electronic violin, a ground-shaking beat, and a lime green just as loud (definitely the colour of the season). In getting to that insane colossus of a finale dress, however, I very much appreciated the transition from the expected Gilbert sequins to a finer, and more subtly elegant, combination of ruffles and small, paneled print. Where there was ruching, it was more about the way hemlines floated around the models' ankles, and where there were structured seams, power shoulders with feminine touches reigned absolutely supreme.
Apparently, I'm a fan of white sequins. Almost edible.
I wouldn't mind permanently adopting the hair and makeup from this show either.
Note to world: first photo is probably my current pride and joy. But do go check out extra shots at the Facebook Page!
Aside from seriously crushing a good chunk of the RTW group show this afternoon, I also had the pleasure of meeting the happiest snappers out (Tommy Ton and Phil Oh), as well as getting a bit snap happy myself with the mind-boggling number of incredible shoes around.
Shakuhachi and Camilla & Marc are a little of tomorrow's vocabulary. Please brace yourselves.
P.S. I'm not sure/can't remember if I've shared this little piece of news yet, but some of the shots I snapped at last week's Ginger & Smart show are up on the website and their blog! Check it out HERE.
*love*
