I love being a long-time fan and then being able to hear more about the energy and hard work that goes into the pieces I lust after :)
And so, Stylestalker is possibly the furthest from an exception you can get - everything that comes into the spotlight is so fresh and playful, but real: and it's that real aspect I love so much!
Needless to say, I feel pretty lucky to have gotten this lovely insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes with Sue-Ann and the Stylestalker.com team:
1. To start with, what is Style Stalker’s approach to fashion and style?
Rach and I think fashion should be FUN! We love experimentation and playing with trends, wearing ridiculous outfits
2. In all the pieces you come up with, where does your design philosophy stand?
We don’t really have a philosophy Rach and I just throw ideas at each other and then we see what sticks. Sometimes we will vibe western cowboys and other times we love Japanese geisha. Depends on our mood.

4. So I’ve seen how 2009 was a huge year for you guys in terms of growing and fashion forwardness – what do you imagine 2010 will be like?
We have grand plans in 2010 and we think it’s going to be HUGE. We’ve travelled to India and China on sourcing trips so we will be able to design and create even more crazy sexy garments.
5. Anything else special planned for 2010?
We are having a wack fashion week party with Tangent Mag, details are top secret!
6. I’m really interested to hear – what kind of work goes into designing and developing one piece for a collection?
Rach and I will do our research and get our inspiration. Then we lock ourselves in a room for a month and throw ideas at each other. We always design what we want to wear and we have to love each individual piece.
7. So where does Style Stalker look to for inspiration for all of your work?
From all over the place: internet, going out, our friends, art galleries, music, movies, history, the future.
8. Who’s your favourite style icon of the moment?
I still love the Olsens. Rachel has a soft spot for Carey Mulligan.
9. What’s the biggest style trend you see coming through this year?
The scuba/surf/sports trend. Wet wet wet.
10. What do you think of the new wave of bloggers and street stylists coming through?
We love them!! Bloggers are amazing and we love being part of this creative community.
11. And last of all, what’s a random question would you guys like to ask the next interviewee
McDonalds or KFC?
